The Beauty of Flaws
Spaceology at TIDA Salone 2025
Architect Expo 2025
Collaboration with RES and Pinklao Marble
The Beauty of Flaws challenges the conventional pursuit of perfection by celebrating imperfection as a core element of beauty. Rather than concealing what is broken or incomplete, the project brings attention to irregularities, honoring the traces of labor and overlooked materials often hidden in the making process.
The installation comprises three core pieces — The Unbalance, Fractured Balance, and The Balance — each constructed from a blend of natural marble and raw aluminum. The contrasting materials open a dialogue between nature and industry, heaviness and lightness, refinement and incompletion.
The Unbalance
A vase and bookend made from marble and aluminum tubes arranged in an unstable configuration. It challenges traditional ideas of balance, provoking a reevaluation of stability.
Fractured Balance
This bench uses various types of aluminum tubes, both vertically and horizontally, to support a marble seat. The design demonstrates how imperfect components can come together to form a cohesive whole, showing that stability arises from thoughtful integration, not perfection.
