VV Apartment is a comprehensive renovation rooted in everyday practicality — a compact residential unit that needed to do more: more storage, more defined zones, more room to move and live within the same footprint. The renovation began by stripping the unit back to its blank canvas state, questioning what the original layout was holding back. Walls that divided without purpose, transitions that interrupted rather than connected, surfaces that offered nowhere useful to land. By clearing those constraints and rebuilding from the floor plan outward, the design found space that wasn't there before — not by expanding the unit, but by using it more honestly.
The result balances a restrained floor plan with hidden, complex functionality. Moving away from rigid partitions, the interior is organized around a clear sequence of zones — living, dining, workspace — each distinct in function but connected in feeling. The transition from the intimate foyer to the light-filled central heart allows the home to feel far more expansive than its physical footprint. In the master bedroom, the design recedes further. A minimalist approach and intentional blank space foster a deeper sense of rest. Throughout, a limited palette of textures and materials creates seamless flow, while organic curves soften the architectural angles — small decisions that keep the space from feeling too resolved. The result is a home that holds its functions close, but wears them lightly.
