The 54th is a residential built around the tension between urban precision and tropical material instinct. The brief resisted the idea of a house that looks like one — instead, each floor operates as its own spatial register, connected by a consistent material logic that moves between raw and refined without losing either.

The ground floor is organized for flexibility. A guest livingroom and workspace sit adjacent, divided and connected by a folding door system that allows the boundary between the two to shift on demand. When fully open, the space extends to a private pool — the interior and exterior becoming a single continuous surface for living and gathering.

The second floor is the structural and visual centre of the house. A double-volume living area rises through both levels, anchored by a floor-to-ceiling wall of large-format rustic stone — rough in texture, deliberate in scale. The stone sets the atmosphere for the floor: the dining area follows naturally, grounded by a long wooden table and a timber ceiling overhead. Natural material and proportion do the work; nothing needs to be added.

On the third floor, the master bedroom looks down into the double-volume below through a visual connection framed by dark veneered walls. The room is quiet, its materiality a counterpoint to the rawness beneath it — same palette, different register.
