Two brands. Two different things to sell. One shared floor at Central Embassy. The brief for Mediums and Ve/la was not simply to design two kiosks side by side. It was to ask whether a coffee stand and an art and stationery shop could occupy the same space without either one losing its identity. The answer was to treat them as a pair rather than a collision: distinct in purpose, consistent in material language, designed together so that the combined environment felt considered rather than coincidental. Both brands slow people down. One offers something to drink. The other offers something to make with. The space between them is where that overlap lives.
The Mediums kiosk deploys the established fixture system in a more open, gallery-like configuration — oak joinery, product shelving, the ambiance cabinet in matte black, a display wall holding product photography and campaign material in a grid. A workshop table sits at the perimeter, extending the brand's proposition beyond retail into making. The Ve/la coffee counter sits adjacent, lighter in finish, with a white laminate bar and oak frame, the order point clearly marked and the equipment visible — a working station that doesn't pretend to be anything else. A shared terrace stretches alongside both kiosks: long communal tables in pale oak, wishbone chairs, portable lamps on each surface. The material palette across both is close enough that a person moving between them doesn't feel the transition. They sit with a coffee, look across at the stationery, and the distance between the two feels smaller than it is.
