Kiki's second location at Mega Bangna carries the same founding belief as the first: The beauty of Imperfection, that beauty has no single face, and that a space devoted to it should feel honest before it feels impressive. But where Siamsquare offered a street-level intimacy, a department store presents something harder to work with — a context defined by abundance, consumption, and constant visual movement. The challenge here was not to build another beautiful interior, but to hold the rawness of the original idea inside a setting that pulls in the opposite direction. To resist the polish that retail so naturally demands.
The design responds by turning inward. Walls are treated with the same deliberate incompleteness that defined the first Kiki — surfaces that carry texture and weight, that do not smooth themselves into neutrality. Against the brightness of the surrounding mall, this restraint reads not as absence but as intention. The haircut stations are arranged to create a sense of enclosure within the open retail floor: each one its own small world, unhurried and considered, separated from the surrounding noise by material and atmosphere rather than physical walls. Lighting draws attention to the space rather than away from it — warm, directional, specific. The result is a space that remains recognisably Kiki while finding its own footing in a much louder environment. The belief did not change. Only the ground beneath it did.
